RUHERUKA - JUVENILE
Meaning of name: ‘Craning-the-neck-for-a-better-view’ in Rukiga
Age: Between 3 and 5 years
Who’s yo daddy? Nshongi, or Mishaya or Kakono
Who’s yo mama? Uncertain
This little one seems to be cut from the same cloth as Mureba. The only difference is, while Mureba keeps a look-out from the dense forest undergrowth, Ruheruka is of the tree-top watch delegation. He is the self-appointed crow’s nest ‘looker-outer’ for the family.
From a vantage tree top, this juvenile gorilla will crane his neck for on-comers. This peeping Tom is so intent in his self-appointed watch duties he doesn’t have the time to play with the other juveniles and infants.
But he sure is glad to have you as a friend. Thanks.
